Next Call Of Duty Unveiled May 1

Call of Duty

Activision is planning on revealing its next game based on the Call of Duty franchise on May 1, 2012. According to the official Call of Duty website, the publisher will unveil the new game during the NBA Playoffs on TNT.

Most of the rumors floating around the web right now is going to be a sequel to the 2010′s Call of Duty: Black Ops.

This year all the development duties are goingt o be handed by studio Teyarch. They worked on previous Call of Duty titles like Black Ops and World at War.

Call of Duty is making a lot of dough off their games since the franchise took off in the 2007′s with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Last year alone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 made over $1 billion in 16 days. That is some serious money.

They do have some competetion with the game from EA: Battlefield. Lets see what Battlefield is going to do to try to compete with Call of Duty.

Facebook is to buy Instagram for $1 billion

The popular website Instagram is being offered by Facebook a ton of cash. $1 billion to be exact. Facebook made a public offering to Instagram to buy the site. It is reported that Facebook will pay in a combination of cash and stock for Instagram.

“I’m excited to share the news that we’ve agreed to acquire Instagram and that their talented team will be joining Facebook,” Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg said in a posting on Facebook Monday. The deal is expected to close later this quarter.

“For years, we’ve focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. Now, we’ll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your interests”, Zuckerberg said.

Last year, Facebook was actually planning on adding filters for images just like Instagram is doing to try to get users to use Facebook instead of Instagram. Now they won’t have to worry about it. Just buy the leading picture competition.

“We’re psyched to be joining Facebook and are excited to build a better Instagram for everyone,” said Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom in a statement.

“The Instagram app will still be the same one you know and love. You’ll still have all the same people you follow and that follow you. You’ll still be able to share to other social networks. And you’ll still have all the other features that make the app so fun and unique,” Systrom said.

After this deal happens, it will help drive up Facebook’s value to get Facebook’s worth to over $100 billion sometime this May or June.

After the lengthy wait… Instagram is now out for Android phones! Download it today on Google Play.

Instagram coming soon to Android

Instagram

Instagram, the insanely popular photo filtering & sharing app designated by Apple as the “iOS App of the year 2011” will soon also be available on Android smartphones, according to an announcement made at South by Southwest on Sunday by Instagram Co-Founder Kevin Systrom.

Long story short, there is still no release date or time frame set for the realease of Instagram to Android. The only thing we know is that it is coming “soon”. I almost think this delay is just to drive up the market and need for Instagram which isn’t a bad tactic.

The only thing given at South by Southwest was a preview to the new app.

STAY TUNED!

The wait MIGHT be finally over. Instagram for Droid could possibily be announced this coming up Sunday on March, 11th. South By Southwest (SXSW) conference begins Friday and Kevin Systrom, CEO of Instagram, is on the schedule to speak at the conference. From the sound of it, it sounds like there is a chance he will announce the long awaited launch of Instagram for Android.

Kevin Systrom is scheduled to speak on Sunday morning and his talk is titled “Your Phone’s Camera is Changing the World.” What makes this interesting is that it doesn’t say “iPhone”. Does this mean it will be available for Androids very soon? Everyone, including myself, sure hope that it launches for the Android this weekend.

Keep your finger’s crossed people! It may just be this weekend.
